Raveeha Rabbani - Week 10 - Knowledge is Power

The world we live in is, to be honest, extremely cruel. Most people only care about what they can take, and never focus on what they can give back to those around them. As one goes through life, they will encounter countless individuals whose primary goal is only to suck the life and happiness out of their peers, just so they can feed their own ego.

With these kinds of negative people around, it is important to stay true to who you are and face challenges with high self-confidence and self-esteem. People will try to tear you down no matter what you do. This is because you can never truly please everyone in your life; someone will for sure have some kind of issue with whatever you are doing.

This is why it is my strong belief that holding on to the education you receive, the intellect you build, and the knowledge you acquire throughout your life is one of the most important things you can do. This is because even though society can take away the physical aspects that surround you, or even make you who you are, education and knowledge are the two things that nobody can ever take away from you. The institutions of schools, colleges, and universities have been built and designed to raise responsible citizens and instill them with proper education about how society is structured and how it works.

The training you receive in any field of your choice, whether that is psychology, astrophysics, computer science, or whatever it is that you want to pursue, can prove to be incredibly useful at any point in your life. Educational institutions coach one on how to be an understanding, confident, trustworthy, kind, and responsible individual. This training should stick with you for the rest of your life, if you choose to hold on to it.

The values and material that you study and learn during your teenage years are some of the most valuable lessons, which can benefit you later in life.

All in all, knowledge is one of the most precious assets that anyone can have and it should be kept and cherished as such.

  1. Hey Raveeha! Your blog was incredibly inspiring and helped introduce a new more relatable aspect to the importance of education. Your first statement was intriguing, and I loved how you did not shy away from blunt and direct language. The first paragraph sets the tone for a selfish and condescending environment I'm sure many people have experienced, before the second paragraph introduces your main idea as a solution to the initial problem. The way you present education as "one of the most precious assets" is extremely effective in encouraging your main claims. I completely agree with everything you discuss as the values you learn from a proper education are unparalleled and essential for a successful future life. Ultimately, the extent of street smarts a person has such as the traits you mentioned are going to control the course of their life.

  2. Hi Raveeha! Your blog is very interesting. I like how you can in mind what you think is food or bad because sometimes some people do things for their own interest not because they are cruel just because they haven't thought about there actions in another light besides their own. I believe that education is needed for anything, it is the best to learn more than learn less. When asking my dad about what courses to take next year, he told me to just pick the ones I am interested in and it doesn't matter if I don't major in that subject later on because knowledge is knowledge. I also think it is interesting how knowledge is so transferable. Art skills can transfer into math and the same for math into art, math can go into science, science can go into English. It is easier to divide things into subjects but in the end knowledge is just learning more about the world you live in.
